We spent a long day on Lindisfarne. Well we were there early to beat the tide, but not early enough to catch the sun-rise, as luckily we saw that from Berwick. When we arrived at Lindisfarne it was disappointing to find that there was a sea fog sitting across the eastern side of the island. It took till near mid-day before the sun burnt the mist away from the island centre. It never really cleared from the seaward side. We left the island after the last glimmers of the sun were slowly dropping beyond the horizon.
