A part shot of a MERG 12a DCC model locomotive drive decoder. Originaly taken to obtain an image with all of the classic active and passive components necessary for computation. i.e. processor, crystal clock, capacitor, resistor, diode and transistor. The memory is buried inside the processor, which is a PIC.
