Title: Passo Giau - a Via Ferrata to Rifugio Nuvolau
Description: A simple Via Ferrata approach to Rif Nuvolau (2575m) from Passo Giau. This was my own & my friend Thomas's first Via Ferrata in the Italian Dolomites and was done in the early evening after our arrival from Austria.

The ferrata was just a couple of steel cable sections up in a rather loose gully around the side of the peak of Ra Gusela. A path then led across to another assisted way up to the Refugio Nuvolau. We then walked down, around to the pass, via paths 439/542.

All in all, a very pleasant short evening walk.
