I have been steadily working my way through the list of Corbetts over the last 18 years. The Corbetts are hills in Scotland that are less than the magic 3000ft level of the Munros but are higher than 2500ft. When I started there were 221 of them and so I have been doing about 12 or more a year. Beinn an Oir is 785m and is the centre hill of the notable Paps of Jura. The circuit of the three Paps was a bit tight for the ferry timetable and the wet and misty start that I had didn't help any. So Beinn Shiantaidh escaped for another day.
