Wintry scenes around Caernarfon in North Wales. The castle dates back to 1283 and King Edward I’s castle building campaign. This was the foundation of his determined effort to bring the Welsh under control. The castle was constructed as a major stronghold that could be supplied from the sea and was joined with the walled town.
