Stanhope
Stanhope is very much the "big" engine here! It is a Kerr Stuart "Tattoo" class 0-4-2 saddle tank engine that came from the Penrhyn Slate Quarries of North Wales. It had had a varied career and travelled around the UK before it went to Penrhyn. Built in 1917 and came to the line in 1999. It has Hackworth valve gear that has an interesting movement.
