Alexisbad Station
On arriving at Alexisbad there was a hive of activity. The train that had come in from Gernrode (8961 arr 09:18) was due to return there hauled by the 2-6-2 tank 99-6001-4. At the same time there was a train in from Harzgerode (8953 arr 09:16) that was due to continue on to Hasselfelde. This was hauled by Mallet tank 99-5906-5. The timetable indicated that this should have been a railcar service, so we were fortunate this day to see so much steam activity. There was a lot of shuffling of rolling stock as though this was not the normal situation.
